Just in time for FOTO WIEN, OstLicht Gallery opens a new platform for young photography under the motto »OstLicht Young Editions«. Piero Percoco, Silin Liu and Paweł Jaszczuk kick it off. The self-taught Italian photographer and Instagram shooting star Piero Percoco creates his work right outside the front door. With humour and irony, he photographs the everyday life in the village, the growing up of his sister, his grandmother's cooking and people, sunbathing on the beach of Bari. Silin Liu from Beijing takes on the identity of her alter ego Céline Liu in »I'm everywhere« and travels with her through time and space. By posing with Andy Warhol, Lady Di and Simone de Beauvoir she writes herself into the history of the 20th century. Together with the Polish photographer Paweł Jaszczuk, we search for Christ’s representations in pop culture in his series »¥€$U$«. It shows a world between spirituality and commerce made of underwear with Holy Mary, neon figures and swim rings with Jesus.
The exhibition is curated by Michael Kollmann and Corina Lueger.
