The photobook »Close« by Martin Schoeller has been recently published by Steidl. It contains 120 portraits of influential celebritites from the arts, entertainment industry, politics, business and sports – from Julia Roberts and Adele to Julian Assange and Roger Federer.
OstLicht Gallery presents the work of Martin Schoeller for the first time in Austria, with a selection from his series »Close Up«, »Portraits«, »Identical«, »Transgender« and »Female Bodybuilder«.
This book collects the large-format Polaroids by the American artist and film director Julian Schnabel. Schnabel is a major force in the international art scene. Shot with an extraordinary 20x24 inch vintage camera, his intimate and revealing large-format images are printed in colour and black and white; some have been hand coloured or painted on; and many are previously unpublished.
For the first time in Austria, OstLicht Gallery presented in 2018 Julian Schnabel’s photographic work.

He discovered mystic places that had been created by nature over the millennia and that are nonetheless timeless. When photographed in the twilight world they unfold their immortal power.
OstLicht Gallery presented in 2018 for the first time the whole trilogy »Awakening«, which consists of the series »Grey Matter(s)« (2014–2015), »Into the Light« (2015–2017) and »The Light Within« (2018).
